JPW was a passionate artist from a young age, studying art at West Texas A&M University and dedicating his life to creating larger-than-life works of art. His vision led him to craft and stretch his own canvases, and he became a muralist known throughout the Texas Panhandle for his vibrant and imaginative creations.
Art was always a family affair for James, and he made sure to include his loved ones in his creative journey. My earliest memory of painting alongside him was when I was just three years old, helping him on a sign project. Those moments shaped not only his art but also my own life.
Later in his career, as he transitioned away from large-scale works, James found a new passion in pen and ink. With this medium, he discovered a knack for intricate details, weaving tiny creatures, insects, and even hidden images into his creations. Each piece carried his signature ability to bring the extraordinary to life.
